The S1500E range of open circuit cooling towers consists of forced draft, cross flow and axial fan towers.
Key benefits:
- Extremely low sound levels, similar to centrifugal cooling units equipped with noise attenuators
- Unrivaled energy savings with payback in less than 2 years.
- Fast maintenance and inspection, reducing annual maintenance costs by up to 25%
Typical applications
- Medium industrial and HVAC applications
- Replacements of existing equipment (both counter current and cross current type)
- Tight spaces
- Installations requiring only one air intake
Description
The BAC S1500E open circuit cooling tower is the ideal choice for applications requiring low maintenance and flexibility in placement. With its single-sided air intake, it easily integrates into confined spaces.
General presentation
Extremely low sound levels
Different types of fans are available, such as axial, very quiet, or fans Whisper Quiet, which ensures minimal surround sound.
The filling BACross smoothly guides the water into the basin, without the sound of running.
Air intake on one side, the rear area being silent, ideal for installation in noise sensitive areas.
The XES1500E range has smaller motors that guarantee an extremely low noise level.
Factory designed, tested and rated sound attenuators are available for the air intake side to further reduce sound levels.
Unparalleled energy savings
Evaporative cooling for system-wide energy savings at lower operating temperatures.
Axial fans use half the energy of centrifugal fan units.
Save kW at the pump! The gravity water distribution system meant a pump with a lower pumping head. During periods of low load, the dam system partially closes the hot water pool, saving pumping energy.
The BACross fill is configured from the factory to ensure the most efficient water/air contact and a low air pressure drop for efficient cooling with limited energy consumption.
High efficiency fan motors
The drive system with multiple motors and fans allows the cooling towers to continue operating in the event of a fan failure.
The XES1500E range has smaller motors to reduce power consumption for the same cooling capacity.
Low maintenance and easy inspection
Secure access and unparalleled comfort. Inspection and maintenance of the cooling tower can be done while standing.
The BAC S1500E open circuit cooling tower has a spacious interior area and easy access for inspection/maintenance.
Access to the inside of the tower is achieved by means of a large door, and the optional internal platform does not require the removal of water from the basin for inspection of the inside of the unit or the filling package.
Inspection of the water distribution system (hot water basin and nozzles) is possible from outside the unit, even when the tower is in operation.
The optional sump cover prevents dirt from accumulating in the unit
BACross padding can be easily inspected and cleaned sheet by sheet without the need for disassembly. The BACross design reduces dirt. Optionally, telescopic supports can be chosen for easy replacement of the filling sheets.
The filling also includes droplet separators, which are Eurovent tested and certified.
Self-cleaning cold water basin and filling it above the inclined basin to wash away dirt and debris.
The fans are easily accessible from both inside and outside.
The optional cleaning port helps remove sludge and debris from the cooling tower basin.
Removable anti-vortex suction filter cover.
The optional piping system with ejector nozzles helps remove dirt from the pool and prevents sediment from collecting in the cold water pool.
Different corrosion-resistant materials are available, including Baltibond, a patented hybrid coating, to guarantee a long service life.
Optional engine removal beam for easy engine replacement
Excellent hygiene control
Adequate hygiene inspection without stopping the unit.
S1500E towers are easy to clean and inspect, reducing the risk of bacteria (eg Legionella) or biofilm inside the cooling tower.
Self-cleaning cold water basin and filling it above the inclined basin to wash away dirt and debris.
BACross padding reduces dirt as it can be easily cleaned plate by plate without disassembly.
The filling also includes droplet separators, which are Eurovent tested and certified.
Air intake grilles prevent sunlight from entering the tower to prevent biological growth in the tower, filter the air and stop water splashing outside.
The optional sump cover prevents dirt from accumulating in the unit
The optional cleaning port helps remove sludge and debris from the cooling tower basin.
The optional piping system with ejector nozzles helps remove dirt from the pool and prevents sediment from collecting in the cold water pool.
Ideal unit for replacing an old tower
Single-sided air intake and discharge is suitable in most applications.
S1500E units are ideal for replacing old towers. Fans with small motors and low spray pressure allow re-use of the existing electrical panel.
S1500E cooling towers are factory built and delivered in 1 or 2 sections to reduce overall size and weight, allowing easy section assembly on site with smaller cranes.
Year-round reliable operation
Inspection during operation keeps the unit in optimal condition
Prevents freezing during winter operation
The thermal performance of the S1500E cooling tower is tested and certified by Eurovent.
The drive system with multiple motors and fans allows the cooling towers to continue to operate in the event of a fan failure.
Different corrosion-resistant materials are available, including Baltibond, a patented hybrid coating, to guarantee a long service life.
Operating principle
Hot process water (3) from the heat source enters the water distribution system (8) at the top of the cooling tower where it is distributed over the packing (6). At the same time, the axial fans, located at the top of the unit, draw air (1) from the outside over the stuffing. Inlet grilles protect the tower from debris that may be drawn into the cooling tower. As the hot process water comes into contact with the cold air, the latter heats up and some of the process water evaporates, removing the heat from the remaining water. The inclined basin (7) is the basin that collects the cooled water that returns to the process heat source (4). The warm saturated air (2) first passes through the drop separators (9), which remove water droplets from the air, and then exit the tower at the top.
