The Chillbox system – what it is and how it works

In the context of increasingly stringent requirements for energy efficiency and fast implementation times, the ChillBox system offers an advanced technological alternative for industrial cooling. We recently completed the delivery and installation of two ChillBox units, with a total capacity of 2800 kW, for a manufacturer of high-precision optical equipment. The entire process – from delivery to commissioning – was completed in just 24 hours.

Modular technology, fast delivery

The system ChillBox is a Plug & Play system, built completely off-site and delivered "turnkey". This delivery model eliminates the need for extensive construction sites and complex assembly steps, allowing rapid integration into any existing infrastructure. Installation is done with minimal operational impact and without interrupting industrial flows.

CHILLBOX components

  1. Water-cooled chiller YORK/CARRIER
    It offers the highest energy efficiency thanks to variable speed compressors (VSD). This cooling system stands out for its flexibility in operation, having an adjustable capacity between 15% and 100%, which makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.
    The chiller is equipped with two independent refrigeration circuits, ensuring redundancy and optimal operation even under conditions of maximum demand. Designed specifically for industrial applications, this system guarantees long-lasting reliability and performance, contributing to the efficiency of your operations.
  2. BAC cooling tower
    With low energy consumption, variable speed drive (VSD) fans ensure optimal and economical operation.
    It stands out for its excellent corrosion resistance, having a Baltibond protection equivalent to INOX 304, guaranteeing a long service life. It is also quiet, making it ideal for use in residential locations without disturbing residents.
    Maintenance is simple and components are easily accessible, facilitating periodic maintenance.
  3. 2 KSB pumping skids
    Each skid is fully equipped with two independent pumps, valves, specific fittings and sensors. These skids are designed to optimize energy consumption by having variable speed drive (VSD) motors.
    The monobloc construction ensures easy maintenance and high durability, facilitating maintenance operations without requiring plant shutdown. 
  4. Control panel and automation
    Benefit from an advanced control system with dashboard and automation, which ensures easy operation through a touch interface with intuitive graphics. It enables 24/7 remote diagnostics and monitoring, giving you peace of mind in managing your facility.
    Real-time control can be done from your phone or computer, facilitating quick access to essential information. The dashboard also includes features to display service history and notifications when service intervals are reached, ensuring proactive and efficient maintenance.
  5. System SATI water filtration
    Equipped with a double hydrocyclonic filter and a self-cleaning filter equipped with a rotating arm, this system ensures increased efficiency in removing impurities. With an integrated pump and control panel, fully automated operation reduces the need for manual interventions. The durable INOX 304 construction offers excellent corrosion resistance and the system offers a filtration fineness of up to 25 microns, ideal for the most demanding applications.
  6. Chemical water treatment plant
    The chemical water treatment plant is designed to ensure low consumption of chemicals due to precise control of flow rates and dosing times. This includes a dedicated controller, chemical dosing pumps and storage containers, providing efficient and reliable operation. Water parameters are constantly analyzed and as part of the service contract with us, the supply of chemicals is ensured for optimal performance.

Operational flexibility

A major advantage of ChillBox is the possibility of rapid relocation, with low operational costs. The solution is ideal for companies that foresee future location changes or expansions. In addition, the units do not require a building permit, which considerably reduces bureaucracy and accelerates implementation times.

Current operational data shows a reduction of up to 30% in electricity consumption compared to traditional solutions. For a cooling capacity of 1650 kW, the annual difference in consumption is approximately 800.000 kWh.
