The client invested in an energy efficiency project, with the aim of reducing energy consumption and optimizing operational costs. Within this project, the strategic replacement of two cooling towers Evapco LSTA, each with a consumption of 45 kW (total 90 kW), with two BAC cooling towers from the XES3E “Extreme Efficiency” range. The new units are equipped with 11 kW motors each, thus offering a more efficient and sustainable solution from an energy point of view.
The initial situation
Open circuit water cooling tower with centrifugal fans with installed electrical power of 90 kW.
Annual electricity consumption in the initial situation
90 kWh x 8000 hours/year = 720.000 kWh/year
The final situation
Replacement of existing cooling towers, equipped with centrifugal fans, with cooling towers high efficiency, equipped with axial fans driven by IE3 motors, having an installed electrical power of 11 kW each (total 22kW).
Annual electricity consumption in the final situation
22 kWh x 8000 hours/year = 176.000 kWh/year
