CARRIER air-cooled chiller - 30XB/XBP

Carrier's AquaForce® 30XB range is available in three efficiency levels to perfectly suit each customer's application and meet the requirements of the European Ecodesign Directive.

• 30XBP: AquaForce® 30XBP with Greenspeed™ intelligence is the premium version with EC fans and additional heat exchange surface to improve energy efficiency at both full load and part load. The 30XBP provides highly cost-effective operation in both process and comfort applications by utilizing state-of-the-art EC fan technology.
• 30XB with Greenspeed Intelligence: The AquaForce® 30XB with Greenspeed™ intelligence is equipped with variable speed AC fan motors. It offers an economical solution for improving the level of seasonal energy efficiency for comfort applications. The 30XB model with Greenspeed™ intelligence meets EU 2018 Ecodesign SEER 12/7°C requirements (15% to 100% load variation).
• 30XB: The AquaForce® 30XB is equipped with a fixed speed screw compressor and AC motor fixed speed fans. The 30XB offers an economical solution while providing a high level of energy efficiency at full load for process applications and operation at 12/7°C in warm climates. The 30XB complies with EU 2018 Ecodesign SEPR -2/-8°C and 12/7°C requirements for medium and high temperature process chillers (15% to 100% load variation).

The AquaForce® range is equipped with Carrier 06T twin-screw compressors, well known for their robustness, 99,7% of units without compressor failures*, and with Novation® all-aluminum microchannel heat exchangers with Super Enviro-shieldTM coatings to provide guaranteed long-term optimized performance. *Quality rate measured over a 15-year period of operation. 

Environmental responsibility 

Carrier's AquaForce® 30XB is a boost for green cities and contributes to a sustainable future. Combining a low load refrigerant (-40% compared to traditional Cu/Al coils) thanks to the use of Novation® microchannel heat exchangers and high energy efficiency, it significantly reduces energy consumption while reducing carbon dioxide emissions throughout its life cycle. The AquaForce® PUREtec™ version, designed exclusively for ultra-low GWP HFO R1234ze, will be available in 2018. 

Compact footprint 

Designed with a smaller "V" shaped microchannel Novation® heat exchanger, Carrier's AquaForce® 30XB is 25% smaller than the previous generation 30XA. As an example, the 30XB-500 is 1.2 meters shorter than the previous model 30XA-502, while offering the same energy efficiency ratio. This 30XB model has the same dimensions as the previous Carrier 30GX model, while offering at least a 15% improvement in energy efficiency. 

Extended field of application 

Carrier's AquaForce® 30XB and 30XBP adapt effortlessly to a wide range of applications. Extended operating temperatures from -20°C to 55°C outside air temperature and negative water temperature make them ideal for various sectors of activity. From office buildings and high-end hotels to medical facilities, data centers and industrial projects, AquaForce® 30XB and 30XBP are the perfect solutions to combine the competitive price associated with high energy efficiency, regardless of climate and location. 

Low operating noise levels 

The AquaForce® 30XB and 30XBP range offers 4 noise levels to meet the most demanding technical requirements in noise sensitive environments. The 30XB is up to 6 dB(A) quieter than the AquaForce® 30XAV generation. The range is equipped as standard with the 6th generation of Carrier Flying Bird fans. The new fan blade inspired by nature is the result of advanced research in our laboratory, benefiting from the latest innovations of the UTC aerospace division. The unit can be optionally equipped with an AC or EC motor to guarantee a smooth variation of fan speed and thus eliminate start-stop noise during part-load operation. For increased acoustic comfort, the units can be equipped with an acoustic compressor and oil separator enclosure that reduces radiated noise (option 15), low speed fans (option 15LS) and sound deadening material on the refrigerant circuit to guarantee extremely low-noise operation for very noise-sensitive environments (option 15LS+* ).
