The 30KAV Aquaforce Vision Chiller with Greenspeed Intelligence is part of a new generation of air-cooled chillers developed by Carrier to deliver high performance and optimal energy consumption in demanding industrial and commercial applications. Its combination of outstanding energy efficiency, intelligent controls, connectivity and real-time data access gives end users the tools to proactively manage their buildings for optimal occupant comfort and energy efficiency.
Description
The combination of variable speed units and screw compressors provides exceptional energy efficiency with the inherent stability and wide operating range of volumetric compression.
The 30KAV-ZE with Greenspeed™ intelligence meets EU 2021 SEER 12/7°C eco-design requirements.
Features 30KAV
- The chiller's wide operating range means the 30KAV can operate at ambient temperatures from -20°C to 55°C. This is generally not available with variable speed centrifugal compressors.
- The chiller range has applications in both new and retrofit projects and is available with options for free cooling, partial and full heat recovery and low temperature salt water cooling, further extending its efficiency and range of applications.
- The 30KAV units are designed to exceed the requirements of the European Ecodesign directive in terms of energy efficiency, versatility and noise level in operation. This result is achieved through the optimized combination of peer technologies that include:
- 2nd generation high efficiency variable speed twin screw rotary compressors with built-in Volume Index (Vi) control valve for optimal full and part load performance and Integrated Resonator Array (IRA) for operation with low noise level.
- Sixth generation Carrier Flying Bird fans with AC or EC motor depending on options.
- Casing and flooded tube evaporator Quarry with new copper tubes for reduced pressure drops.
- 3rd generation Carrier Novation "W" profile microchannel heat exchangers with optional Enviro-Shield coatings.
- Carrier Touch Pilot® control with color touchscreen interface that includes 10 languages and the new intelligent energy monitoring function.

- The 30KAVPZE offers premium efficiency with a motor with Permanent Magnet technology. The motor is synchronous and rotates without slipping and without losses in the rotor.
- 6th generation Carrier Flying BirdTM fans with AC or EC motor depending on options.
- Evaporator Carrier with new copper tubes for reduced pressure drops
- 3rd generation Carrier NovationTM "W" profile microchannel heat exchangers with optional Enviro-Shield coatings.
- Carrier SmartVuTM control with color touch screen user interface including 10 languages and the new smart energy monitoring function
Benefits of
Outstanding performance
Equipped with variable speed screw compressors and variable speed fans (AC as standard and EC as an option) and optional variable speed pumps, the Carrier AquaForce® Vision 30KAV chiller with Greenspeed™ intelligence automatically adjusts cooling capacity and water flow to perfectly match building needs or process load variations. The result is optimal operation at both full load and part load (SEER up to 5.4). The 30KAV offers up to 10% more energy efficiency than the 30XAV range with the same footprint.
The range is already fully compliant with the 2021 Ecodesign regulations.
Low noise levels
New generation Carrier 06Z variable speed twin screw compressors with integrated resonator array and 6th generation Flying Bird™ fans with a new nature-inspired fan blade design help reduce compressor noise and airflow up to only 90 dB(A).
The 30KAV is 6 dB(A) quieter than the previous generation AquaForce® 30XAV.
Intelligence and connectivity
The advanced SmartVu™ intelligent control system displays operating parameters in real time, making it intuitive and easy to use. The 30KAV features innovative intelligent energy monitoring, providing data such as real-time electricity consumption, cooling energy production and efficiency rates. For additional savings, the 30KAV can be remotely monitored by Carrier experts to diagnose and optimize energy consumption.
Extended field of application
Carrier's AquaForce® Vision adapts effortlessly to a wide range of applications. The extended operating temperatures from -20°C to 55°C outside air temperature and negative water temperature make it ideal for various sectors of activity. From office buildings and high-end hotels to medical facilities, data centers and industrial projects, the AquaForce® Vision 30KAV meets the most demanding expectations in terms of efficiency and energy savings, regardless of climate and location.
Easy installation and maintenance
Built-in variable speed pumps up to 800 kW, automatic regulation of nominal water flow through electronic control and automatic measurement of the unit's energy performance in real conditions, all in units 25% smaller than the previous generation 30XAV, give installers peace of mind and of service companies alike.
