YORK absorption chiller - WFC SC
Operated with hot water or steam, with a unique effect
Cooling capacity 17.6 – 175.8 kW
Yazaki's WFC SC chillers are single stage hot water driven chillers. Compared to electrically driven chillers, the WFC SC series can significantly reduce system operating costs when using waste heat.
Description
Applications particularly suitable for the Yazaki WFC SC absorption chiller include waste heat recovery from cogeneration or biomass, waste heat from power plants
or from industry, as well as solar thermal energy. This makes absorption cooling an environmentally friendly and economical alternative to conventional air conditioning systems. Reduced electricity consumption leads to reduced CO2 emissions and provides relief to power grids by replacing conventional cooling demand peaks.
Features
Heat source for actuation – hot water
WFC SC units can operate with a hot water inlet temperature of 70 to 95°C.
Refrigeration cycle
The Yazaki WFC SC high-efficiency single-stage absorption refrigeration cycle uses water as the refrigerant and lithium bromide (non-flammable, non-toxic, environmentally friendly and non-hazardous to the ozone layer) as the absorbent. It is the strong affinity and ease of separation these two substances have for each other that makes the cycle work. The entire process takes place in hermetic containers, in an almost complete vacuum.
